Happy (Almost) Halloween ghouly gypsies!!
I adore fall (my favorite season) and I LOVE Halloween. Any opportunity I get to attend a themed event, I'm like a kid in a candy shop. Themed costumes, food, drinks, decor are all my jam. Whether you’re gettin' spooky with a few friends or throwing a monster mash for dozens, the below Halloween cocktails will be a treat for everyone!
It's hard to deny that pumpkin is a large part of of both fall and halloween and I live for pumpkin spice anything. I was recently able to try and play with Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Cream Liqueur by Mozart and WOW is it good. It's so rice and creamy with a perfect spiced pumpkin flavor. I could easily drink this on the rocks but it's even more fun to add to cocktails for flavorful seasonal sippers! Below are two of my favs using the liqueur!
Bippity Boppity Boo
This cocktail is like a strong boozy pumpkin spiced latte. It's got the bold flavor of coffee coming from the café tequila and cold brew, mixed with the creaminess and pumpkin from the Mozart liqueur. The whipped cream and caramel give it the extra perfect touch. Cheers!
1.5 oz Mozart Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Cream Liqueur (find it here!)
1.5 oz Café Tequila
2 oz cold brew coffee
Espresso caramel drizzle
This is a layered cocktail (kind of looking like a chocolate candy corn!) so start with adding your pumpkin spice liqueur to a flute glass. Mix the tequila . and cold brew together and pour over a bar spoon slowly. Because the cold brew and tequila are lighter than the cream, they will stay on on top, creating the layered effect. Top with whipped cream and a drizzle of espresso caramel.
It's Just A Bunch of Hocus Pocus
Who else loves the movie Hocus Pocus?! It's a classic and I have to watch it every year. This tasty sipper is named after the classic and is a perfect cocktail to whip up for yourself or a themed watch party with your friends!
1.5 oz Mozart Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Cream Liqueur
1.5 oz bourbon
1 oz canned spiced pumpkin
.5 oz maple syrup
1 egg white
Add all the ingredients to a shaker and shake vigorously with ice. Remove ice and shake again to emulsify the egg so that you really get a nice foam. Pour into a coupe glass and top with cinnamon! It's basically pumpkin pie in a glass!
Tiki Monster Mash
This cocktail doesn't use the pumpkin spice liqueur BUT it's a fun "fiery" tiki drink that will light sparks at your next Halloween event. It uses Stroh 160 proof rum but don't let the high alcohol content scare you, the rum actually tastes great! When I first smelled it I was expecting the "punch you in the face" strong smell like fingernail polish remover that usually accompanies alcohol this strong, but instead I was greeted with a lovely warm and rich rum scent that reminded me of my mom's rum extract that she'd add to pound cake or sugar cookie glaze! The same flavor came through in the drink adding that warm spiced flavor that I crave in tiki drinks to balance out the fruit.
3/4 oz Stroh (Find it here!)
1 oz coconut rum
1 oz banana rum
2 oz mango juice
2 oz prickly pear juice
Palm leaves, lime, & cinnamon to garnish
Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake with ice. Pour into a glass with crushed ice. Add two palm leaves as a garnish. Cut a lime in half and hallow it out. Take a cocktail pick and skewer the lime. Add an additional .5 oz of Stroh rum in the lime and light it! The flame will burn low and blue but add some dashes of cinnamon to the flame and it will turn bright yellow and spark like in the picture below! The perfect treat to amaze guests at your party!
